How will the new data protection act being discussed in Brussels effect collections and trace?

Currently the EU is debating the introduction of a new Data Protection Act that will come in to force across the whole of the EU during 2014. This directive is likely to affect the data you will be able to hold on a debt and also the way you conduct trace. As it is likely the time frame for holding data will be reduced and mis-trace data will not be allowed to be stored as the trace function as no right to the data. This may mean that a mis-trace that happens once is likely to happen again.
