Mis-trace, ‘We can’t fix our credit file’

Mis-trace is one of the biggest issues for the collections industry. On Sunday the 3rd of April this was highlighted once again in The Telegraph, an article tells the story of a man who had been mis-traced, even though he was 30 years younger than the debtor, and the trouble that resulted in him getting his name cleared.

The same article also explained how mis-trace was on the rise of resent years. This said the Information Commissioners office only received 140 cases related to inaccurate information help by credit reference agencies, this highlights how few cases there are of mis-trace and yet the significant affect these few cases can have on public opinion.
